A fatal shark attack has been filmed in Hurghada, Egypt. While a second body has been recovered near the area.
A tourist was snorkeling near a pier July 2, near Sharm El Sheikh at Sahl Hasheessh in the Red Sea.
Elisabeth Saure, 68, was bitten multiple times and according to reports from the area lost her arm and a leg. Video taken (Graphic video link) seconds after the attack, show the woman struggling to swim as onlookers urge her on.
The woman, who is identified as being from Austria and married to a local man, was able to make it back to shore. Medical personnel assisted her into an ambulance, but she passed away after reaching the hospital.
Based on the video, the woman may have been in an area protected by shark nets. If true, the shark may have simply swum underneath or around the nets.
Locals reported a ship load of sheep which were being sent to the area for sacrifice during an upcoming Muslim holiday, sank in the area. If true, it would attract sharks of various species to the area.

The Red Sea has a population of Oceanic Whitetip sharks. The species has been known to attack humans and several videos of the sharks biting divers have been recorded.
Reuters reports a second shark attack victim’s body was found hours after the first incident.
The body of Roxana Donisan, 44, was recovered about 600 meters from the location of the first.
A 12-year-old lost his arm to a shark in Egypt.
A mother and her 12-year-old son were diving in the Sinai Peninsula Oct. 25, 2020, when a shark struck.
During the dive a shark struck the boy on the arm beneath the elbow. Both the mother and dive guide attempted to pull the shark off and sustained injuries themselves.
Unfortunately, the boy’s arm had to be amputated and it is unknown what injuries the mother and dive guide suffered.
Two divers were injured, and one swimmer killed by sharks in 2018.
Alexander Kraenki was diving off Brothers Islabd June 18 when he spotted a whitetip shark.
He watched the shark following him as he grabbed an anchor line, but lost sight of it as he began to ascend. After his back was turned the shark grabbed his right thigh.
On Nov. 3 Dan White was completing a dive certification off Brothers Island when he filmed a whitetip shark swimming. He filmed the shark as it bumped into a diver and eventually attacked a German diver by biting his leg.
Fatal Attack
Peter Blesk, 42, was vacationing at Calimera Habiba Beach Aug 3 when he was killed.
The auto mechanic jumped off a pier into deep water as his wife and 7-year-old daughter waited for life jackets. He swam a short distance away from the pier, only to turn around and furiously start swimming back to the pier.
His wife spotted a dark shadow beneath her husband who disappeared under the water.
His remains were later found on Marsa Alam Beach.
In 2018 Tracking Sharks was sent video reportedly of dive operators illegally throwing fish parts to sharks in the area.
